President Donald Trump thanked Qatar for its contribution to relief and reconstruction efforts in Gaza during his address to the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Qatar's Humanitarian Efforts Qatar has been involved in humanitarian and diplomatic efforts related to Gaza for years.
The country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Qatar works with the United Nations and humanitarian organisations to support humanitarian assistance and has participated in efforts including humanitarian corridors and the release and reunification of detainees and separated families.
Qatar's International Media Office has also stated that assistance provided to Palestinian civilians in Gaza, including food, medicine, fuel and financial assistance, was delivered through mechanisms coordinated with international partners and Israeli authorities.
Qatar Responds to Recent Allegations
The recognition comes amid recent reports and allegations concerning Qatar's humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
Qatar has strongly rejected those allegations. In statements issued on 18 and 21 September 2026, Qatar's International Media Office said claims that Qatar provided money directly to Hamas were false and disputed reports published in Israeli media and The New Yorker.
These claims and Qatar's responses remain part of an ongoing political and media dispute, making it important to distinguish between documented statements and allegations made by the different parties.
